Association of Municipalities passed “decriminazliation”

One of the decisions is the refusal to appoint people with a criminal past. The Mayor of Shkoder, Voltana Ademi, was will lead the association as the first female chair.

“The assembly united the municipalities and communes in one single body. The municipal councilors also became members with full rights. Decriminalization was also made part of the status, so that people with criminal records will not be part of this organization”, the communication says.

The meeting passed a resolution, which was read by chairwoman Ademi. It expresses the need to accelerate the local governing reforms and continue decentralization, in order to offer a better service for citizens.
