In broad operation against criminal groups 3 million euros were seized, “prison arrest” for 50 suspects, special prosecution says

The SPAK Special Prosecutor’s Office said today in an official announcement about the operation that hit the criminal groups in several cities of Albania, that it has documented the commission of criminal offenses by 7 criminal groups with considerable leverage and with scope of activity in some of the main cities of the country such as Tirana , Durrës, Vlorë, Lezë, Fushë Krujë and Rrëshen.

Within the framework of the above criminal proceedings, the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), in cooperation with Eurojust, Europol and the Dutch, Belgian, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Greek law enforcement agencies, has extended the investigations to in these countries for other suspected members of these criminal groups, for criminal offenses committed in Albania, as well as in several countries of the European Union.

The operation led by SPAK and coordinated with partner agencies lasted for about 20 hours, where approximately 30 investigators and numerous police forces were engaged. Investigative actions were carried out in the cities of Tirana, Durres, Vlora, Shkodra, Lezha, Rreshen, Kurbin, Fushë-Kruja and Kruja, where assets with an approximate value of more than 2,996,760 euros were found and seized as material evidence.

Among the assets seized were also significant amounts of gold and jewelry, expensive watches with an approximate value of 500,000 Euros, firearms, modified vehicle license plates, camera surveillance systems, a poker table, etc.
