The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, met with the Socialist women on
March 8th. The Prime Minister answered to the accusations of Ben Blushi
for what he calls “criminals inside the party”.

“They try to identify the SP with criminals. The truth is that we are the political force that brought the highest number of women in Parliament, as never before in our history, not criminals. They were brought by the vote of socialist supporters”, Rama said.

Rama said that the figures for the involvement of women in the decision-making process of our country are the highest in history, thanks to the reorganization process of the SP, which, according to Rama, has 30.000 new members, a huge percentage of whom are women, and 8 women ministers in total.

Among the female ministers, Rama praised the Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla, saying that a former school teacher has done more than what has been done in that government post by former professors, doctors and scientists.

Rama said that the most difficult dependants in his government have been women, with the toughest debates. “I had a harsh debate with Lindita Nikolla and time showed she was right, although I would have wanted to be right”, Rama added.

Rama referred to a phrase of the former British female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, to explain professionalism and efficiency of women in power.
