The Trauma University Hospital in Tirana has received about 4000 emergencies, while about 20 surgical and disease interventions are performed daily.
The news was announced by the Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu, who was in an inspection at the University Trauma Hospital, in which were transferred all emergency surgeries, including as those of malignant pathologies.
“The biggest concern was to guarantee emergency health services for citizens in this period. We managed to put all the surgeries, even those of malignant diseases, in the emergency section of the Trauma Hospital. There are about 4000 expected emergencies and about 16-20 surgical interventions being done here. We made an organization of the health system so that the quality service for the citizens would not be missing “, said Manastirliu.
Manastirliu added that a gradual opening of the health system will take place, and that will depend on the progress of the COVID19 situation.
“We are very carefully evaluating all the stages of opening the health system so that will not happen so fast. We need to guarantee patient protection, your protection. The work has not stopped in hospitals, and will continue with intensity by the medical staff everywhere in the country “, said Manastirliu.
