Bank of Albania states that Budget 2017 is consolidating, and excludes
possible impacts coming from the behavior of the administration during
an electoral year. The revenues, according to the Bank, are feasible.
However, the Bank says they need to take in consideration the scenario that they may not be realized, so that the other budget paramters, such as spending and deficit, can change based on that outcome.
“If the budget revenues will be under the planned level, and if this difference is bigger than what was foreseen by the budget, the government needs to take other measures to respect the budget deficit. This means a reduction of spending equal to the amount of non-realized revenues”, declared Governor Gent Sejko.
The Bank says they should be careful with taking loans in foreign currencies, due to possible fluctuations in a long term.
