Wollfarth visits vote counting centers

OSCE ambassador, Eugen Wollfarth, is attending an observing visit at the
Zonal Election Commission of Municipal Unit 9 in the Albanian capital.
According to most recent information, the presence of the ambassador has accelerated the vote counting process, since the commissioners had counted only four ballot boxes for six hours.
The vote counting concluded with the Democratic Party candidate Lulzim Basha leading with 9937 votes against the Socialist Edi Rama with 9443.
Meanwhile, the vote counting process at the Municipal Unit no. 5 was interrupted after one commissioner decided to leave. After four days, the vote counting process in this unit results with 13255 votes for the Socialist Edi Rama and 9668 votes for the Democratic Party candidate Lulzim Basha, putting Rama 3557 votes ahead.
