The game within the ‘Freedom Party’ between Ilir Meta as party chairman and his wife, former chairman and member of the presidency Monika Kryemadhi, has continued throughout today as the National Convention was held in the Palace of Congresses in Tirana.
For 2-3 weeks, Ilir Meta started a campaign against his wife Kryemadhi, accusing her of destroying the party which he left her with 17 deputies, and now has only four. He accused his wife of nepotism, which, according to Meta, has seriously damaged the Freedom Party.
For this, Meta also called the National Convention to redo the party’s forums, and on this occasion to remove his wife from this political force.
Today Kryemadhi “accepted” Meta’s victory as he declared that she is a “gladiator in high heels”, but that she will take care of other priorities, devoting herself to the family.
Although her husband removed her from the political scene, Kryemadhi voted for Ilir Meta as President of the Party, making her vote public.
“There is no voting secrecy between husband and wife”, said Kryemadhi in the vote that will apparently be her last in the high forums of her husband’s party.
