A report of the European Statistics Agency, combined with those of the Albanian agency INSTAT, says that Albanians work 6 hours more a week compared to Europeans, or 1 working day more than their cohorts in EU countries.

Erion Muça, an expert on employment, said on the matter: “Based on this report, Albanians work about 43.7 hours a week. Serbia is ranked next and in third place an EU country, which is Greece.

“Still today, an Albanian works hard and long hours, which are considered the only way to produce results for the business or enterprise.

“Women in Albania work about one day more a week than Europeans, which is an additional effort, especially when they need to take care of the family and children. They do an additional work that still remains generally unpaid in Albania.

“Times are such that the worker is very important, so employers must respect the labor contract 100%, pay the overtime, increase wages, give rewards and bonuses so that employees are as productive as possible”, concluded the expert.
