On the 18th day of the hunger strike, the oil workers decided to take out the 10 male hunger strikers while their place was taken today by women oil workers, who started the extreme resistance measure.

15 women are expected to go on hunger strike, as they have not received the salaries with which they support their children and families.

Oil women who have been working in the refinery for 30 years are forced to go on hunger strike as a form of resistance to get the arrears wages and restart working again.

Many of them in middle age, who also struggle with other health problems, are risking their lives by starting the strike. They were applauded by the rest of the workers as they entered the ‘resistance building’.

Tears and pain were visible in the room as the mothers request their many withheld salaries for the work they have done in Ballsh.

Yesterday, the Ballsh oil workers broke the police cordon at the gate of the factory and forcibly entered its premises on the 17th day of the strike, as they did not receive any response for the arrears of salaries requested.

Ballsh oil workers have been out of work and without social assistance for 9 months, while 10 of them are on a 17-day hunger strike, endangering their lives. The strikers along with the protesting oil workers say that after the mass protest, if this problem is not solved they will sacrifice themselves by riding on the high towers of the refinery.
