Veliaj: “Regulating Tufina and Sharra cemeteries”

The Municipality of Tirana is working for the rehabilitation of the
cemeteries and for expropriation of lands in these areas. The Mayor of
Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that they have invested during these six
months for the rehabilitation of the Tufina cemeteries, where all
parcels will be regulated.
“Our goal is to start regulating the Sharra cemeteries too, to restore dignity for the citizens of Tirana that rest here”, Veliaj declared.
Tirana will have mural cemeteries, and the regulation will start with the older graves, abandoned 50 years ago, a process that saves public spaces.
In the Tufina cemeteries there are 11.000 square meters of asphaltation, 8600 square meters of walking concrete, 24 kilometers of underground drinking water systems, a tend for waiting during rains and the reconstruction of the funeral enterprise.
