Veliaj: “Blood-donation should turn into a tradition in our institutions”

The Consumer Protection Agency workers responded to the appeal of the Blood Donation Alliance, helping raise awareness among other Tirana Municipality institutions, which donated blood for people in need during the summer period.
“I am very grateful to the colleagues of the Tirana Municipality, to the consumer protection agency, who not only have worked very hard even during summer, but they were also the first ones to donate blood. Thanks to the contribution of the Tirana Municipality, blood donations increased with 250% during summer. This is a victory since donations used to drop during the holiday season, making it harder for many patients”, Veliaj said, adding that this emergent donation phase must continue through all institutions, until it has turned into a permanent tradition.
