The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the Iranian mujahedeens in Albania are part of a humanitarian, not political operation.

In an interview with Albanian journalists, Rama said from Vienna that the humanitarian presence of the Iranian opposition in Albania is also specified in the agreement.

The Albanian Prime Minister underlined that the country is not exposed to any possible threat, as a result of the confrontation between Iran and the USA.

“First of all, the matter with Iran is not a new topic for us. We have taken a decision that honors Albania and that continues the Albanian tradition of supporting the strategic alliance with the USA, aiming to open our doors to a group of people whose life was in danger.

“As written in the agreement, they are in Albania based on a humanitarian operation, not a political one. I don’t think that this would expose Albania, and we have no reason to believe it. We are having constant contact with our allies. We are in safe hands when it comes to receiving information”, Rama said.
