Juncker: Time has come to open the EU accession negotiations with Albania

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, declared in a joint press release that the member countries should recognize Albania’s merit in realizing the reforms for opening the EU accession negotiations.
As for the reluctant countries, Juncker said that it is not “mission impossible” to convince them, which are against mostly because of their internal problems, not continental reasons.
He said that Albania is ready for the next step, but admitted that the opening of the EU accession negotiations might not be done in June since several parliaments don’t have sessions in that time. But it must be clear, according to Juncker, that it is time to open the EU accession negotiations with Albania.
