Gambero Rosso, one of the most prestigious magazines of Italian
astronomy, which has been offering restaurant, wine and olive oil guides
for the past 20 years, as well as meals prepared by the most renowned
cooks in the world, have dedicated an article to what has turned into a
main attraction for all tourists who visit Tirana: “Pazari i Ri”.

The article underlines that the square was built in 1931, and now, thanks to an urban requalification investment, this place has turned into a gastronomic center decent enough to compete with other Balkan centers.

“A 6.5 million UER investment has changed the image of the Avni Rustemi square, which has included the surrounding buildings and the Skanderbeg Square, which shows a capital that doesn’t fear modernization and that plans to be a tourist destination, to the same level of other Balkan gems”, the article says.

The author writes that the city’s Municipality made an architectural renewal of the market. Instead of the old complex, a new modern building was created, with iron and glass structures that reminds the traditional roofs of Tirana. The special infrastructure and also the architecture, is mixed with a special market and food that is offered by the restaurants, especially the ones offering sea products, which keep attracting tourists.
