The high audience from May 8th, the day of local election, until May
14th, when the vote counting process was over in Tirana, showed another
victory for Top-Channel in the media reporting battle.

Detailed information and the entire vote counting process were broadcasted in real time on our screens and the official web page.

The web page broke another record, with 1,250,385 visitors in five days, with an average time of 12 minutes and 57 seconds spent per page.

But how was all of this made possible? A detailed plan was drawn up by the news director, Bledar Zaganjori, with the help of the technical director, Redi Neziri, creating a network of live reports from all over the country, through high-end technology equipments.

A new studio was specially built up for the program “Albania Decides”, hosted by Sokol Balla. The reporters were assigned in the voting centers they would cover, accompanied by the cameramen and live broadcasting technicians.

The shooting crews assigned to cover the election race all over the country traveled one day before, in order to make everything ready for the next morning since the very first moment of the voting process.

The journalists who covered Tirana started reporting live from 07:00, while the rest of the staff coordinated the process from the studio.

A chain of live reporting started on Sunday morning with the mission to end only after the very last vote would be counted, wherever it might be in Albania.

Field journalists stayed 24/7 in the vote counting centers of Shkoder, Lezhe, Kukes, Peshkopi, Burrel, Durres, Elbasan, Korce, Fier, Lushnje, Vlore, Berat, Gjirokaster and especially in Tirana, where the vote counting process appeared to be extremely long and tiring.

Everything was reported live on the program “Albania Decides”, which ran everyday till the late night hours. Besides the live reporting, the results were shown by graphic images updated in real time by the field journalists, who received the information from the official documents of the Zonal Election Commissions.

These reports were calculated with a maximal attention by other journalists in the studio, correcting even an error of the Central Election Commission. At the same time, the entire process was commented by analysts invited in the studio.

Other live reports were done during the news editions. As for the work on terrain, besides the many difficulties and the long hours of the vote counting process, there have been incidents too.

The reporter Marin Mema and the cameraman Eno Cucllari were attacked by several people while filming the premises of a voting center of Municipal Unit 2, after receiving information that there had been used falsified identity cards.

Every report was transmitted with speed, accuracy and impartiality, with the goal of providing honest information for all Top-Channel viewers of whatever political conviction.

Top Channel won once again the battle for the audience, giving the public what they were looking for: fast and accurate information during a long election process, as never before.
