CEZ affair, Rama: “Made up by the opposition. Prosecution must speak”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared in an interview for
Voice of America that the CEZ affair is made up by the opposition,
because there is no CEZ case. He said that the agreement of the
government with the Czech company was based on international standards
and was due to the 1 billion debt accumulated by the bad management of
the previous government.

Rama invited his accusers to address to the appropriate institutions, since the agreement with CEZ is considered successful for the Albanian government. The rest is part of a meaningless fog created by the opposition and the media close to them.

According to Rama, the Prosecution has an ongoing investigation and they should be the one to give any declaration about this. The government, according to Rama, has nothing to do with the speculation.

As for the requests for foreign investigators, Rama said that Albania has its own legislation which has all the space for any kind of investigation.

“There is a huge speculation, because no one is coming up to investigate the agreement that has created this problem with CEZ, and that was signed by the previous government. This is an inherited problem created by those who are selling themselves as accusers today”, Rama declared.
