Albania-Kosovo, delays in Customs

Kosovo holiday makers, who want to enter Albania, are obliged to stay
for many hours in front of the Customs that connects Albania with
Kosovo.

Bureaucracy and low working capacities make it seem more like the Greek Customs, where emigrants stay in queues for many days in both sides of the border. This situation is not only difficult for the tourists, but also for the merchants who despite the new and fast highway, now are delayed at the wall that Albanian authorities create in the border.

The Kosovo side of the border is faster, but the real stress starts in the Albanian side. Some travelers say that they prefer to pass through Macedonia for going to Kosovo.

The vehicles, trailers and buses wait for several hours in long queues, because the Albanian side works with only two checkpoints, while the Kosovo authorities with 5.

This absurd situation that has been continuing in the border for six months has damaged commerce. Traders of agricultural goods say that they suffer considerable damage by staying in queues for a long time.
