Wednesday temperatures reached minus 22 degrees in Qafa e Thores in Shkodër, in the north of Albania, bringing ice and frost on the road to the tourist spot of Theth.
Snow plows are working to clear the road, but the authorities ask tourists to necessarily be equipped with wheelchains in their vehicles.
The same situation is in Kelmend of Malësi e Madhe, where temperatures in the village of Vermosh reached -16 degrees.
Roads are open but frost caution is advised.
Meanwhile, in Puka in the far northeast, sub-zero temperatures have caused the city’s lake to freeze, but the municipality asked residents not to try games on the ice as it could be unsafe and cause accidents.
