The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that Albania is about to open the EU accession negotiations, and what was done today by the opposition makes Albania take lose some valuable points with integration.
“I did everything to open dialogue with the opposition. They didn’t accept the repeated requests of the EU and USA. The Prosecutor was appointed legally, based on the Constitution and confirmed by the missions of USA and EU, who have been assisting the difficult process of the judiciary reform, which is not the choice that everyone desires. We wanted dialogue with the opposition, not only to respect the Constitution but also to fulfil the judiciary reform obligations together with the opposition. We are at an important moment for Albania. We are waiting for the accession negotiations to open, but shows like the one that we saw today have made us lose points”, Rama said.
