The Pogradec Municipal Council has been constituted after a long
stalemate. Eduard Kapri has officially become Mayor of the city.
Natalia Velo was elected Chairwoman of the Municipal Council, with 16 votes in favor, leaving Aleksander Cela behind with 13 votes.
In this meeting was present Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi, who supported the government for realizing a series of investments in Pogradec.
The constitution of the council was suspended after one of the opposition’s councilors resigned and it was impossible to appoint the next one in the liar, Eljana Sancolli.
Pogradec has 21 councilors from the left coalition and 10 from the right.
