During the discussion on the policies that are being undertaken to further support the economy and businesses, the Albanian Prime Minister emphasized today that all sectors must join forces to achieve the goals.

Rama said that the Albanian economy is going through a positive phase of development, recently certified by Standard&Poor’s agency, which evaluated Albania for its public finances and the further reduction of debt.

“I would say that it is very encouraging for our economy, in the conditions where on the one hand Albania has received a new assessment and on the other hand when we have a recent data from the Bank of Albania, for a significant increase in foreign investments, which for the first time have risen above the figure stabilized in recent years of 1 billion euros, to 1.5 billion euros”, said Rama.

“Our vision goes far beyond these current data. Without question we have a potential for a further increase in foreign investments and our goal is to climb to 2, 2.5, 3, 4 billion.

He further mentioned the lack of staff, mainly in the tourism sector.

“Today we see that entrepreneurship in tourism no longer poses the problem of salaries, but poses the problem of having someone to pay and with whom to cover all the roles and functions of a hospitality infrastructure.”

“On the other hand, it is very important for us to have clarity and to have as much input as possible from all other economic and social factors, as well as academic, in the way we should shape a new policy for professional trainings.”

“Of course we have some ideas, but we want to join forces and create an approach as clear and as concrete as possible for what we need to do.”

“And last, but not least, is the discussion on the new bill for the National Economic Chamber. A bill delayed for many years, without depriving anyone of the right to make whatever organization they want in their work. We must impose the obligation to register in the National Chamber of Commerce, as all democratic countries have.”

“It will have its own inevitable costs this process, it will have to make its own sacrifices and there is a common denominator for us, the government, the executive power, for the judicial power, for the legislative power, for the private sector and all other independent agencies, for civil society, for the university and this common denominator, a process that at this stage requires knowledge, new knowledge from the way the process works, to the way the European Union Works”, Rama said, among other things.
