Muslim religious leaders of the region: “Muslims are against terror”

While the entire Europe, including Kosovo, have increased the security
alarm, the Islamic religious leaders from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia
are condemning the terror attacks and consider as crimes those who take
lives of innocent people.
Representatives of Muslim communities from all countries of the region joined to promote the work of the Kosovo Islamic Community Mufti, Naim Ternava, titles “Speech for Religion and our Country”.
“We are living in a time of unheard crises. There are those oriented towards violence, death and destruction, falsely basing it on religious motivation. There are people suffering from these acts. Muslims have condemned and keep condemning the acts of violence and terror wherever they take place. A man’s life is holy, untouchable and no on holds the right to take it on behalf of a ideology. This is a crime against humanity”, said Skender Brucaj, Head of the Muslim Community of Albania.
The Mufti of the Muslim Community of Kosovo, Naim Ternava, commented the fact that some Kosovo citizens are joining the war in Syria and Iraq. He appealed those who went there to return, and others to not go, since the path to Syria is against the Islamic norms.
“It is not a holy war. It is against Islam. We are bound by Koran and the words of Mohammed to raise our voice against these terrorists and criminals, and fight them. We must explain to our youth, some of whom have been deceived. The Albanian nation has nothing in common with those fratricidal wars that are taking place in Iraq and Syria”, Said Naim Ternava, Mufti of the Muslim Community of Kosovo.
“This propaganda in our region is mostly inflated by the Serbian official politics, which constantly tries to slander on the Albanian people and Islam in general”, said Shaqir Fetahu, Mufti of Gostivar.
