Saying that the money laundering mechanism has changed since the time of
Al Capone, the head of the European Union Presence in Tirana, Ettore
Sequi, added that there is only one advice for Albanian law makers, “to
implement laws”.

EU ambassador in Tirana held this speech while presenting a twinning project in support of the structures that fight money laundering and financial crimes in Albania.

Sequi declared that an organized implementation of the law is the best way to fight organized crime and money laundering, adding that this requires a common political will.

Political will was also subject of the Albania’s General Prosecutor speech, Ina Rama, who said that in a time of political stalemate, people must know that cooperation in technical level does exist.

The twinning project presentation was also attended by Interior Minister Bujar Nishani and Minister of Finances Ridvan Bode.
