Minister of Interior: “Elbasan shooting due to failed justice”

The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, commented about the shooting in
Elbasan and insinuated that it is due to the failure of the justice
system, which has sentenced only two persons in 10 years for eight
murders and two murder attempts.
“The shooting yesterday has concerned citizens. Of course I don’t welcome those who say it took place because the Minister is a gangster. Eight people were killed in a decade, one of them was even under police watch. The killers went to their home and killed a man and his father. The suspected killer left the country although the police had been alerted about him. And the police officer that allowed him was arrested and then he was left free. And that police officer returned on duty with a lower grade. Citizens feel more unprotected because of them absent justice”, Minister Tahiri declared.
The Minister asked the political class to join him against the crime, rather than being part of it.
