Miners: Ready for agreement

The leaders of the Buqlize mineworkers’ hunger strike gave positive
signals that could bring a possible solution to the conflict with the
concessionary Company ACR and the miners.

Baki Bajraktari, leader of the hunger strike, left two days ago the gallery where he had been isolated for more than 20 days. After seeing the propositions of the ACR administrator, he answered that the miners are ready to sign an agreement and that he himself would guarantee the security of ACR representatives.

“We appeal the owner of the mine, who promised three years ago that she would bring the smile back to the miners, and that there would be no more mourning mothers”, Bajraktari declared.

ACR Company administrator declared that they are ready to accept the mineworkers’ demands and that the strikers know it. But the administrator accused the syndication leader of having a hidden agenda and that he aims to make a never ending strike. Meanwhile, strikers’ representatives seem ready to reach an agreement.

“Come to Bulqize and we will talk, if there is the will. We can leave behind the the irresponsible declarations released by both parties”, Bajraktari added.

Meanwhile there are other mineworkers underground, who are continuing the hunger strike, and many others supporting them in the gallery entrance.
