Laws, SP doesn’t vote

Today’s Parliamentary session should had given the signal that the EU is
waiting for seeing if the Albanian politics is ready to cooperate for
integration, but this didn’t happen.

The Socialists asked the removal of these draft-laws for initiating the negotiations of their requests that start with the approval of the amends proposed for the Parliament Regulation.

For the majority, this position is just another blocking of the integration, for not allowing Albania to receive the EU candidate status.

“We have been asking since 2009 for this political crisis to end, a crisis that has closed the doors of the European Union. We want to negotiate, but all that you say in response is that the opposition must cooperate. The problems of the Parliamentary system were not created by the opposition”, the Socialist Parliament Group leader, Gramoz Ruci declared.

“Let us vote the law without losing any time. We can vote whatever you like, either the Ombudsman, or we can establish the commission of the electoral reform today. Do not block Albania. This is up to you”, declared the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli.

The draft laws that required a qualified majority were adjourned for the next session, but this doesn’t mean that they will be approved, especially after the President was mentioned in the speeches of both parties.

“We have been in government, we even had the qualifying majority for electing the President, but nevertheless, we negotiated with you for one week. Now sit and negotiate”, Ruci declared.

“We have proposed to start the negotiations for the next President and other issues. We are repeating to you that there will be no bargain with integration. If you consider it as a tender, you are seriously mistaken”, replied the Democratic Parliament Group leader, Astrit Patozi.

Until now, the only question to which our politicians can give an answer is “who is to blame?” Naturally, each of them wants to convince the Albanians that they are not to blame.

“We must thank Edi Rama that finally is being sincere, after rejecting the citizens’ vote for so many years”, Patozi declared.

“You have come today for forerunning what the progress-report is going to say, and leave the responsibilities to us. But Europe and the world does not have stupid people for believing this”, Ruci replied.

Since there are no good measuring means for the political cleverness of a people, it seems that we all must wait the Parliamentary elections of 2013 for knowing who is to blame.
