One week after taking under control the border checkpoints in Mitrovica, the safety situation continues to be delicate.

Meanwhile, all roads remain blocked. After blocking the bridge on the Iber River, the northern Serbians even set a tent upon it. Police was notified that the tent would be used for a concert.

Police declared that dozens of Serbs gathered near the border checkpoints in Jarinje and cut the barbed wires that were placed by KFOR. According to the Police, the Serbs had tried to open a crossing point from Serbia to Kosovo, but they were stopped by KFOR.

According to the Police Spokesperson, Besim Hoti, the alternative roads are used by smugglers and criminals.

As regards the food supply for the northern citizens, the Spokesperson for the Commune says that the Commune is trying to help families in need.

While the Serbs continue blocking the roads, Western countries appealed for calm in Northern Kosovo.
