Izet Haxhia’s lawyer files request for retrial

Izet Haxhia’s lawyer had warned earlier that the case of his client would be reopened.
Lawer Fran Dashi presented a request for a retrial on Izet Haxia’s case.
“The Court of First Instance in Tirana has continued all trials in his absence. We trust that the case will reopen”, Dashi said on May 9th.
Haxhia was extradited to Albania after 19 years. He is sentenced to 25 years in prison for cooperating with the murder of former Democratic Party MP, Azem Hajdari.
During these years Haxhia has accused Berisha of plotting the murder.
