Interior Minister presents results against drugs

The State Police published the results of the national operation against
drugs, in presence of the Minister of Interior, the Prime Minister and
foreign Ambassadors.
Minister Tahiri said that the time when the government stood and watched while drugs was spurring everywhere is long gone now.
“It’s a better news when the drugs is caught, than when it was irrigated with fire engines. We have the statistics of our Italian partners and of the State Police that can be verified at any time”, Tahiri declared.
The Minister of Interior addressed to these statistics to reject the accusations of the opposition who accuse him of helping the drug gangs.
“There were 323 hectares of cannabis identified by the Guardia di Finanza in 2013, when the DP was in power. In 2015, the Guardia di Finanza verified only 44 hectares. Eight times less than in 2013. The Police has destroyed 99.2% of the identified surfaces. Since September 2013, 94.7% more drugs has been seized than during the eight years of DP government. This is no lie. The number of criminal brought to justice is higher than the total number of the DP in eight years”, Tahiri declared.
The Interior Minister addressed to the case when a vehicle of the Albanian Embassy was caught with drugs in Rome when Lulzim Basha was Minister of Interior. He said that the traffic by then was made with official vehicles, while the police is engaged today in an operation against narcotics.
Basha published days ago a picture of the parcels in the Gusman village, the origin of Tahiri’s family. He said that drugs was flourishing in this village with the blessing of the Minister of Interior.
“The DP leader had manipulated the picture of the Police during the operation for removing the drugs. We don’t know how the opposition leader has gone so low”, Tahiri declared.
