INSTAT: “Higher prices, inflation 2.2% for September”

The Institution of Statistics reports higher prices in September, when
the government started its operation against informality. INSTAT says
inflation increased to 2.2%, from 1.9% in August. The jump will be
bigger if compared with one year ago when the consumption price index
was at 1.5%.

Referring to the Institution of Statistics, the main groups that were influenced by the growth of consumption prices in the market are “Foods and non-alcoholic beverages”, with 1.94%, followed by “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco with +0.25%”.

Another group that has dictated the high inflation rate in September is that of “Education Service”, with +0.15%. “Hotels, Coffee and Restaurants have contributed with +0.03%”.

The biggest proce reduction is noted on transportation, clothes, shoes, rents, water, fuels and energy.
