The interview of the Albanian Prime Minister on the TV show of a
renowned Greek journalist, Alexis Papahelas, was followed by more than
130.000 viewers, going beyond the average coverage. Views on his website
reaches more than 500.000.

First reactions come from the New Democracy, an opposition party. Giorgos Koymoutsakos, responsible for the Foreign Ministry, appealed the Foreign Policy Commission to hold an immediate meeting. The Vice Leader of conservatories, Adonis Gjeorgjiadhis, said that Rama has raised with good intentions a very serious matter for bilateral relations.

Most of the Greek journals seem to underline Rama’s declaration that Albania is not following a border-changing policy, different from the negative comments of a few weeks ago, from Kathimerini to Ethnos.

To Vima published the entire interview, without any comment, with only the title: “The idea of Natural Albania comes from those who are afraid”.

The conservatory “Eleftheros Typos” which in past articles expressed concerns about Erdogan’s declarations for borders and for Edi Rama, which they say is his satellite, gave no comment but only writes the title “words about Greater Albania are crazy. No ambitions against Greece”.

Protothema underlines that Rama mentioned not only the Cham case, but also the Ionnian border issues.

The most positive title comes from the state news agency, which speaks positively about future cooperation. However, journalists do not agree with most of what Rama said. Their opinion is that he is using a cultured language to raise important matters that used to be taboo a few years ago.
