Fines to transportation vehicles

International Transportation Association says they have turned into prey
of fines mounting up to thousands of Euros, which forces them to issue
an Albanian ticket when they come from or go to Greece.

They asked the Minister of Transportation in a meeting with him to change the law that in many cases stimulates corruption.

“The problem is that we get fined in Albania for going with Greek tickets and we get fined in Greece for going with Albanian tickets”, said Kujtim Harshova, from the International Transportation Association.

“We have cooperated with the Ministry of Finances to change this and we know that it is under evaluation and is being prepared to be sent to the Council of Ministers”, said Arjan Budo from the Ministry of Transportations.

Another problem, according to the association, is the double taxation and informality that brings unfair competition from unlicensed vehicles.
