EU ambassador meets Albanian leaders

EU ambassador in Macedonia, Peter Sorensen, attended a meeting with the
leaders of both Albanian political parties in Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti and Menduh
Thaçi, with whom he discussed about June 5th elections and Macedonia’s
priorities after the closure of the electoral process.

Ali Ahmeti, leader of Democratic Union for Integration, declared in front of the EU diplomat that a priority of the new government must be the country’s membership in Euro-Atlantic structures, the resolution of the name issue, and the economic development that will decrease unemployment and will grow the living standards for their citizens.

Ahmeti declared that his party will be dedicated to implement the Agreement of Ohrid, as a very important document for the future of Macedonia.

While PDSH leader declared his party’s will in contributing for the unblocking of all integration procedures. He asked serious dialogue to be made, in order to solve all open issues of the country.

In the recent days, after losing the elections, some leaders of smaller Albanian parties have resigned.

One of them is also the leader of New Democracy, Imer Selmani.
