23 new cases have been confirmed in Albania with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
16 new cases were in Tirana, 2 in Mat, 2 in Lushnja, 1 in Durrës, 1 in Librazhd and one in Kruja.
In the last 24 hours, 21 health personnel have been tested and 2 cases resulted positive.
At the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 26 patients are currently being treated, of which 4 are in intensive care and 1 is in serious condition.
Dr. Marjeta Dervish from the Institute of Public Health provided more details:
“Of the total number of victims identified in the last 24 hours, 19 are contacts of previously confirmed positive cases, while for 4 cases the epidemiological investigation is continuing.
“In this situation, the implementation of the recommended measures remains very important for all citizens. Maintain physical distance and personal hygiene. When coughing or sneezing, use a paper towel or the angle of the elbow , wash your hands as often as possible. Avoid closed spaces and crowds.
“Do not neglect the signs of the disease and for any concerns call the unique number of the National Emergency, 127.
