The President of the concessionary ACR Company in Bulqize withdrew from its stance against the syndications.

This is what the syndication leaders, Kol Nikolla and Taf Koleci communicated to the mineworkers after receiving a letter from the President of the ACR Company. The letter says that they accept to sign the agreement with the presence of the syndication, a draft of which was sent to the leaders.

The ACR Company had accused the syndication, sued them and declared that they would never sign an agreement with their leaders. But regardless the last offer, the strike will not stop.

The mineworkers did not return to work, but said that they would wait other two days, when the agreement will be signed with the company. Meanwhile, the maintenance process has started inside the galleries.

Nikolla: Parliament to investigate

The Syndication Confederation appealed the Albanian MPs to discuss the issue of the Bulqize miners in today’s Parliamentary Session.

The head of the confederation, Kol Nikolla declared that the Bulqize miners strike is consequence of the ACR mine negligence.

“The MPs should give a public answer to the miners for what is happening in Bulqize”, Nikolla declared.

The head of the confederation, Kol Nikolla, asked the establishment of an investigation commission, becasue the two respective ministries, those of Economy and Social Affairs are not supporting the miners. If the Parliament will not engage with the Bulqize miners’ issue, the miners will restart their strike in full accordance with the law, until their demands will be fulfilled”.

The miners haven’t given up to their protests either, asking the chrome company to fulfill their requests for the pay raise and improving working conditions.

Some days ago, the concessionary ACR Company invited some miners to turn in the galleries and sign individual contracts, including the pay raise of 20% and the improvement of working conditions.

Through this letter, the company promised consistent information for the investment plan.

“The miners are in difficulties due to irresponsible people”, company leaders say.

For more than one month, the entire town of Bulqize is concentrated on the hunger strike and protests that some times have been violent.

The miners and their families demand higher wages and more investments from the ACR Company, in order to be safer and obtain more technical conditions.

In the territory of the ACR company and the levels that used to be exploited by them there are dozens of private companies, the miners of which work without any plan or safety conditions. Several years ago there have been accidents and the reason, according to the specialists, is that they work without a plan and in difficult terrains.

Bulqize resembles to hidden and lost towns that are completely in function of the rich chrome mine, a mine that feeds thousands and gives great wealth to a few others.
