You don’t necessarily have to be a doctor or a nurse to get a job contract to Germany. They are also looking for barbers.

While there are already thousands of Albanian doctors and nurses working in Germany, barbers seem to be next.

Many young Albanians are taking courses to certify the profession before they apply.

22-year-old Flogert Bami: “I have started the barber’s course five months ago. It will be completed after one month. I see my future in Germany, as many of my friends. I see this as a good opportunity to work there. After the barber’s course, I will learn German, so that the government can give me a work contract. Many friends have recommended me to do this. The job pays 1000 to 1500 EUR, depending on the city or saloon”, he says.

The exact number of young people leaving the country as barbers is yet unknown, but this seems to be the latest trend.
