The former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, reacted after the
publishing of the “Habilaj” case, in which his cousin, Moisi Habilaj,
who was arrested for leading a drug gang that had moved 3.5 tons of
cannabis.

“Today is the day of my adversaries to make use of the nonsense told by two criminals who brag with each other about who has bigger support”, Tahiri declared, underlining that “no matter how big is this lie, the truth is out there”.

“I have served as Interior Minister longer than anyone, and I have fought for my duty with responsibility. The two criminals who are very far related to my family, as many other criminals, mention names of ministers. I’m not the first one. I ask the Prosecution to investigate everything. My only mistake is that I sold them my personal car. I am fully responsible for this. I don’t have any other responsibility rather than that. Every criminal should be arrested, no matter who they are”, Tahiri declared.

He added that he doesn’t demand protection from anyone: “I will wait for investigations and I will only be dedicated to the truth”, Tahiri said.
