Civici: “IMF recommends reviewing property tax”

While INSTAT had an optimistic prediction for the government about a 4%
economic growth, the IMF raised alarms about the 1 billion USD project
the government plans to implement in the next four years, giving in
concession very important sections of our economy.
Invited on Top Story, Prof.Dr. Ardian Civici said that the IMF did not recommend to hold the investments, but to calculate them as debt, so that they can be paid as a debt.
“There are suggestions to change the tax system, especially the property tax. The Albanian fiscal system collects 26% of the GDP. The recommendation is 30-33%, to have a balanced situation. Without increasing taxes, but by making a distinction between taxes for labor and for property”, Civici declared.
