They come as tourists, try to leave as traffickers. This is the latest
trend verified by the border police, as regards foreign visitors to
Albania.
From May to September, 38 foreign citizens have tried to take cannabis out of Albania. 21 of them were caught near Qafe Thana, and their countries of origin vary.
“They have been Polish, Czech, German, Romanin, etc”, says Arben Joco, Director of the Border Police in Korce.
The biggest quantity of 273 kg was about to travel to Netherlands.
“The traffickers had made a colossal work, hiding cannabis inside vases. The destination was Netherlands”, said Gentian Mallkuci, Chief of the Qafe Thana Police station.
