Rama asks Property Registration Directors to resign within 24 hours

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that Property Registration
Offices are one of the most affected institutions by what he called “a
cancerous system of parties in power”.
Rama said that every single director of Property Registration Offices, despite of their party affiliations, must resign within 24 hours and the government will start the procedures for replacing them.
The next step, according to Rama, will start with the creation of the new government. “We will establish the National Agency of Property Titles. Within this term, the property certificate will be enabled automatically through the National Digital Register of the property. Not for weeks, months and years, but within a few minutes”, Rama declared.
“We are far from reality and for the people’s needs this structure is very problematic”, Rama said.
He criticized the institution for reporting only 5100 untreated legalization permits, when the number of legalizations made by the Property Legalization Agency is much higher.
Rama left local Property Register Directors 24 hours time to resign with dignity.
