The Council of the Tirana Municipality voted the business plan drafted
by experts from the Municipality, USAID and Tirana Aqueduct.
The project plans to guarantee 24/7 water supply in five years, and it starts with a price increase for citizens.
Veliaj said that the project which will increase the number of water sources for Tirana, will add new filtering systems, will repair the distribution network, will bring cleaner water to citizens and will allow them to remove water deposits from apartment building roofs, and there will be no need to buy drinking water in supermarkets.
Veliaj used the Korca Municipality as a success story, where a series of investments guaranteed tap water 24/7.
