Interior Minister appeals cannabis planters to destroy parcels or face prison

The Minister of Interior, Dritan Demiraj, joined the State Police in an
antidrug operation and chose a new way to give citizens a message
against cannabis plantations.
“We are determined for zero tolerance as regards cannabis. We appeal citizens to remove plantations on their own, or they will face the strength of the law. They should remove them on their own and avoid 10 years in prison”, Demiraj said.
The operation led by the Deputy Chief of Police, Rebani Jaupi, monitored by Demiraj himself, was held at in Nivica and Backova, Vlore. More than 2000 cannabis plants were destroyed during this operation.
