Elections: Socialists led by Edi Rama win 74 seats. DP 43, SMI 19, PJIU 3 and PSD 1

The Socialist Party has guaranteed 74 Parliamentary seats out of 140 in
total. Almost 100% of the ballot boxes have been counted, and the few
remaining ones will hardly make any difference.

This is the first time since 1992 that an Albanian party wins elections all alone. The DP will have 43 MPs in the next parliament, while the SMI will be represented by 19, three more than one term ago.

PJIU will not have their leader in Parliament, but two MPs in Elbasan and one in Dibra. The Dibra MP has already declared her vote in favor of Edi Rama’s party.

Tom Doshi, elected under the Social Democratic Party in Shkoder has already expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Prime Minister. With just these numbers, Rama will have 76 MPs, eight less than 3/5th of the Parliament.
