The Central Election Commission asked Albanian political parties to hand over the list of candidates within April 29th.
The parties who have registered so far are the Socialist Party, the Socialist Movement for Integration, the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, some smaller parties and also the Agrarian Party, which later made a demand to unregister, but which didn’t have a legal value.
From April 20th to May 5th, the Central Election will have to verify candidates based on the new legal requests. The registration of a party is completed when the lists of candidates are sent to the CEC.
Drilona Hoxha, Spokeperson for CEC, said there will not be a second deadline for this process.
