Co-rapporteurs of the Council of Europe, Andrej Hunko and Joseph
O’Reilly, started a fact-collecting mission in Tirana. Today they met
with civil society representatives involved with the elections.

The German MP, Andrej Hunko, said for Top Channel that they will give conclusions after meeting with all parties. Gerta Meta, one of the local observers, said the CoE rapporteurs are also interested to see the possibility of using electronic voting for the June 18th elections.

When asked about electronic voting, Joseph O’Reilly said that authorities in Ireland had been forced to go back to traditional voting due to technical problems.

Local observers asked the Strasbourg delegates to push the electoral reform commission to guarantee transparency of electoral funds and punishment for vote purchase.

In a meeting with Parliament Speaker Meta, the CoE delegates discussed that Albania, being still monitored, needs to implement the judiciary and electoral form as soon a possible.
