Macedonia, Zaev rejects Gruevski’s offer against Albanian language

Zoran Zaev, leader of the opposition party LSDM in Macedonia, took 67
signatures necessary for forming a new government to President Djordje
Ivanov, who will have to answer in the days to come.

This means that Zaev has not taken in consideration the offer made by his rival, Nikola Gruevski, who said his party would support Zaev’s government in numbers, if he gave up from the platform of Tirana, which, according to the VMRO-DPMNE leader, has transformed Macedonia and will cause ethnic divisions.

Gruevski said that even if Zaev would arrest him, his party would still support his government, if he promised to not change Macedonia’s national interests.

Zaev’s LSDM reached a compromise last week with the BDI and other Albanian parties, which allows Albanian to be second official language throughout Macedonia.
