Democratic Party MPs responded to European Commissioner, Knut
Fleckenstein, who appealed the opposition to return to Parliament and stop blocking the judiciary reform, especially the Vetting Law.

MP Gent Strazmiri: “I think that if it is true that the rapporteur for Albania, the eye and the ear of Europe for Albania, sees fairy tales that there are no criminals in Parliament, then it would be sad. He sees fairy tales, as if this parliament has not as many criminals as we say it has, but as few as the Prime Minister says. Hence, this Parliament cannot make a better judiciary reform”, he said for Top Channel.

Former Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, said the opposition is exactly where it should be, on the side of its citizens.

“We are doing our work where our people want us to be today. The requests of this protest is to guarantee free and fair elections, and to have all the dirty money gangs away from the electoral process, so that citizens can be free to vote. I think that this is a big contribution that a political party can give with its parliamentary group”, Bode said.

The former Parliament Speaker said that our country is not in normal conditions.

“If we were in normal conditions, we would not be discussing boycotting the Parliament. We are not in normal conditions. It is a choice that I don’t like, the other MPs don’t want it, but this is a way to raise awareness and that we cannot pretend nothing is happening in Albania”, Jozefina Topalli declared.
