Hahn: “Opposition’s boycott, regrettable”

A few minutes after the reaction of the European MP, Knut Fleckestein,
the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, also reacted
about the opposition’s boycott.
Hahn said the opposition’s boycott is regrettable, and that the cooperation between the government and opposition is very important for the country’s integration.
“The boycott of the Albanian opposition is regrettable. The political debate must happen inside the Parliament, not outside. The cooperation between the government and the opposition is necessary for the country’s EU ambition”.
The EU Commission added that it is especially important to continue the essential reforms of the Parliamentary agenda, such as the Vetting Institutions, the electoral reform and recommendations of the OSCE and ODIHR, which are essential to guarantee free and fair elections. These reforms are necessary for Albania’s EU integration”, Hahn said.
