Today is the sixth anniversary of the January 21st killings, when four
unarmed protesters were shot dead in front of Prime Minister Berisha’s
Office.

Prime Minister Edi Rama and government members will receive relatives of the victims at the Palace of Brigades.

Together with the relatives, the Prime Minister will then march on Tirana’s main boulevard for the flower wreath ritual.

The government will grant to the relatives a 160 million ALL fund as compensation.

The Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, said for Top Channel that the compensation was an obligation of this government, but justice has not been done yet.

He said that the government had to wait for several court verdicts before issuing the compensation.

The Interior Minister connected the January 21st events with the Justice reform, saying that those who oppose the reform, don’t want justice for this case.
