The Court of Serious Crimes sentenced the Saranda judge, Rasim Doda, to
four years and six months in prison. He will also not be allowed to work
for three years.

Doda was taken under custody on June 2015, after requesting 80.000 EUR to rule in favor of a party for a civilian trial.

The Judge had even provided the party with a copy of his verdict one day before it was due, as proof.

This party told the judge they could not pay that sum, and the judge issued another verdict, in favor of the other parties.

The Prosecution of Serious Crimes took Doda’s computer under custody and verified the document the judge had initially created for the party that could not pay his bribe.

The Prosecution of serious crimes requested 5 years in prison and a three-year–ban from courts. The judge denied the accusations and said everything was a trap.

Doda was mentioned by the media even in 2009, when the High Council of Justice issued a disciplinary proceeding against him, a few weeks after accusing him of corruption. The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets reported him and his wife, also a Saranda Judge, for hiding assets and false declaration, a few weeks after the corruption charges.
